Alan McConchie is an experienced litigator with a focus on defamation, reputation management and cyber libel. He represents clients at all levels of the court system, including before the BC Court of Appeal and the BC Supreme Court, the BC Provincial Court and various administrative tribunals and arbitration boards.
Alan is regularly sought out for his considerable experience in internet defamation and often advises and assists clients with removing content posted online. His practice includes helping to identify the parties responsible for defamation posted on the internet anonymously; addressing defamation on social media; and addressing defamatory reviews posted to rating sites.
In addition to regular court appearances, Alan devotes a considerable part of his practice to helping clients deal with issues proactively to prevent lawsuits or other disputes.
Alan graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 2002 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2003. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature from Simon Fraser University. Alan is a Member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
Outside of the office, Alan enjoys chasing his two young children on the ski hill and around the North Shore.
